Compassionate Care Hospice Needs Your Help!

Compassionate Care Hospice is looking for volunteer quilters to help us continue a "Patchwork of Life" program. Each one of our families (after the patients death) is offered a small hand made memory quilt. These quilts are approximately 3ft x 3ft. Most quilters simply use a 4' square and either tie them or quilt them. The families love this part of our service. All materials are supplied. We are looking for volunteers to help with this program.

CCH's offices are located in Westampton (Burlington Co) and Seaville (Atlantic County)  However we service the lower 14 counties of the state of NJ. Therefore our patients / families could be in any of these counties and quilters are needed in all. All supplies are provided. We will pick up and drop off clothes for the quilts, then pick up and deliver after they are complete.

If anyone is interested please contact Vicki Loveland, Volunteer Coordinator at 1-800-844-4774 or vloveland@cchnet.net.

ArtPride Needs Your Help

In Fiscal Year '07, the New Jersey State Council on the Arts sustained a 15% reduction in funding, which in turn affected some of the most charitable work performed by arts organizations throughout New Jersey, including educational programs in our State's most economically challenged communities.

ArtPride needs your help NOW to remind our elected officials that state arts and cultural funding MUST be fully restored to 2006 levels of support. Please take a minute to visit the ArtPride web site at www.artpridenj.com and click on the "Action Alert" button. The message is brief, clear and ready for you to add your own personal note.

It is our understanding that Governor Corzine is working on the FY '08 budget now, therefore, our effort to affect his proposed budget is time critical. It is imperative that we begin to advocate NOW to remind our Governor and state legislators that full restoration is vital to the survival of cultural groups of all sizes in all corners of the State.

Your action will help assure that the dedicated state source of funding for arts, history and tourism promotion remains stable and growing, and will remind our elected officials of the value of the arts to our economy and our society.

Email, letters and personal visits with your local legislators are key to our success. Act NOW!

If you need more information to aid your efforts, please contact ArtPride at 609-443-3582 or via email artpride@artpridenj.com, and please keep us posted of response to your communication with our government leaders.

Sincerely,

Janet Peterson
