2009 Convention

Everyone who volunteers their time at the NJ Quilt Convention 2009 has the opportunity to win a fabulous quilting gift basket filled with books, patterns, fabric, notions, batting and much more! Here is how it works, for every 2 hours of volunteer service receive one ticket in the raffle. All are welcome to volunteer!

The following is a list of areas where volunteers are needed. To sign up or get more information contact:

Admissions	Thursday, Friday, Saturday	Sit and/or Stand - Collect admission fee and attach wristbands. Hand out show programs.
Judging	Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday	Mostly Standing, move around, Assists judges in fanning quilts
Lectures and Demos	Thursday,Friday,Saturday	Mostly Standing - Provide assistance to lectures, demostrators, and assist in lecture room
Membership	Thursday,Friday,Saturday	Sit Down - Provide information to new enrollees, collects membership fees and hands out information on the guild.
Pins / Cameras	Thursday,Friday,Saturday	Sit Down - Sell Show pins and Cameras
Quilt Hanging	Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday	June 8,9,&10 - Assist with handging quilts
Quilt In-Take		Wed. 6/3/09, 4pm-8pm: Cozy Quilt Shoppe, 466 Kinderkamack Rd, River Edge. Fri. 6/5/09, 10am-2pm: Quilting Possibilities, 512 Rt. 9 South, Forked River. Sat. 6/6/09, 10am-2pm: Creative Sew & Sews, 30 Main St. , Englishtown
Quilt Returns	Saturday after show 5 pm until finished	Fast- paced, Standing, moving around - Assist Chairperson in packaging quilts for mail return
Raffle Sales	Thursday,Friday,Saturday	Sell raffle tickets at raffle table
Security	Thursday,Friday,Saturday	Checks wristbands at enterance door
Unhanging	Saturday after show 5 pm until finished	Fast-paced, Moving Around - Meet the owner of the quilt at the door, Take the quilt down, confirm ownership, and escort the owner back to the check-out table.
Vendors Relief	Thursday,Friday,Saturday	Some Sitting, Some Standing. Provide vendors who need restroom breaks or lunch breaks. Usually 20 minutes or less during the day. Busiest time is morning break, lunch, afternoon break.
Workshops	Thursday,Friday,Saturday	Moving Around - Mostly needed before each class begins in the morning or afternoon. Assist the chairperson in making sure teachers have supplies for the classroom.
Youth Interactive	Friday, Saturday	Mostly Standing and Moving Around - Assist chairperson working with children in making small projects by hand or machine.
