Linda’s classes are fun and empowering!
She has a way of taking a project that looks complex and breaking it down in such a way
that it’s easy to understand. Linda received her National Quilting Association Teacher
Certification in 1999 and has been three times nominated for Professional Quilter Magazine’s
Teacher of the Year award. Linda is on the faculty for the 2008 NQA show in Columbus.

Shar Jorgenson:
A veteran quilter of 30 years, Shar Jorgenson is a familiar face to thousands
of television viewers. Her PBS television series, “Quilting with Shar”, brings innovative
techniques to quilt makers of all skill levels. Her enthusiasm, down-to-earth style, and
extensive experience guide viewers through the steps of creating beautiful quilts, quickly
and easily with today’s tools. In 1988, Shar created her first set of laser cut acrylic templates.
Her time-saving method of rotary cutting several layers of fabric into customized shapes brought
accuracy and convenience to quiltmakers. Without sacrificing the beauty of traditional designs,
Shar teaches methods for accurately reproducing ageless quilt patterns with ease and efficiency.
In addition to the 130 quilt programs she has taped for PBS, Shar is the author of twelve books.
Her latest hit is book and templates for the Dahlia. Through filming, writing and teaching, Shar
continues to share her knowledge and love of the art with quilt makers everywhere. Shar has produced
two fabric lines for Benartex.
Marti Michell:
It is no wonder that Marti Michell, the 2004 Silver Star Honoree at the Houston International Quilt Festival,
is often introduced as a pioneer in the current quilt revival. In fact, in 1972 when Marti and her husband
started Yours Truly, Inc., a patchwork kit company, there was no quilt industry. Since then, she has
contributed in almost every capacity. Whether she is participating as a teacher, quilter, author,
publisher, manufacturer, designer, consultant, judge or quilt collector, her enthusiasm for and love
of quilting is always evident. Since 1995 the Michells have manufactured the Perfect Patchwork line
of acrylic templates and specialty rulers for rotary cutting. The 2004 Silver Star is prestigious
“lifetime achievement” award. In 1991 she also received the first Michael Kile award given for commitment
to creativity and excellence in the quilting industry. Marti lives in Atlanta, GA, but was born and raised in
Iowa. She received a B.S. in Textiles and Clothing and Home Ec Journalism from Iowa State University.
